Acceptable Use Policy
ReachNow provides business contact data. This policy sets out what that data, and the service, may and may not be used for.
It exists because a contact-data product can be used well or badly, and we would rather be explicit about the difference than leave it unsaid.
The short version
- Contact people about their work, not about their private lives, and not as consumers.
- Have a lawful basis for contacting them, and know which rules apply to you.
- Stop when asked, immediately and permanently.
- Do not resell the data. It is licensed for your own business use.
- No fraud, phishing, harassment or malware. These result in immediate termination.
The rest of this page is the detail. If you only read the summary, you have the substance.
1.Scope and your responsibility
This Acceptable Use Policy applies to everyone who uses ReachNow. It forms part of the Terms of Service, and breaching it is a breach of those Terms.
ReachNow provides contact data. What you do with that data is your decision and your responsibility. We are not in a position to supervise your outreach, and this policy does not make us responsible for it — but we do set limits on what the service may be used for, and we act when we learn those limits have been crossed.
You are responsible for having a lawful basis to contact the people you enrich, and for complying with the marketing, privacy and electronic communications laws that apply to you and to them. Those obligations vary substantially by country. If you are unsure which apply to your outreach, take advice before you send.
2.What ReachNow may be used for
ReachNow is a business-to-business tool. It is intended for contacting people in their professional capacity, about matters relevant to their professional role. Typical legitimate uses include:
- Business development outreach to people whose role relates to what you sell
- Recruitment approaches to candidates about relevant roles
- Partner, supplier and vendor outreach
- Enriching and maintaining contact records already held in your own systems
- Research and account planning
3.Prohibited uses of the data
You must not use data obtained through ReachNow to:
- Send unsolicited bulk messages that are not relevant to the recipient's professional role, or that you have no lawful basis to send.
- Contact anyone who has asked you to stop. Opt-out requests must be honoured promptly and permanently, whether or not the law in your jurisdiction requires it.
- Harass, threaten, defame, stalk or intimidate any person, or facilitate anyone else doing so.
- Send fraudulent, deceptive or misleading communications, including phishing, impersonation of another person or organisation, or any attempt to obtain credentials, payment details or confidential information under false pretences.
- Distribute malware or links intended to compromise a recipient's systems.
- Market consumer products or services to individuals as consumers. ReachNow returns business contact details for business purposes. Using them for consumer marketing is outside the scope of the service.
- Target individuals on the basis of protected characteristics — including race, ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, health status or political affiliation — or use the data for discriminatory purposes.
- Contact people in a personal rather than professional capacity, or use the data to build profiles of individuals unrelated to a legitimate business purpose.
4.Prohibited uses of the service
You must not:
- Resell, redistribute, license or publish the data obtained through ReachNow, or incorporate it into a product or database offered to third parties. Your account entitles you to use the data for your own business purposes only.
- Share account credentials or allow access by anyone outside your organisation.
- Attempt to circumvent credit accounting, purchase limits, rate limits or any other technical control.
- Scrape, mirror or systematically extract the ReachNow interface, or access the service by automated means other than the features we provide.
- Reverse engineer the service, probe it for vulnerabilities without authorisation, or interfere with its operation or availability.
- Create accounts to evade a suspension or a prior termination.
- Submit prospects you have no legitimate business interest in contacting — for example enriching an entire company directory or an entire industry with no relationship to what you do.
5.Suppression and removal requests
Anyone may ask us to erase their details and suppress them from future results, using our data removal page. No account or prior relationship with ReachNow is required.
Once an address is suppressed, ReachNow will not return it again. You must not attempt to re-acquire, reconstruct or infer a suppressed address through the service, and you must not use a suppression as a signal that a person exists at that company.
If a person contacts you asking to be removed from your records, that obligation is yours to fulfil in your own systems. Suppressing someone at ReachNow does not delete the copy you already exported, and we have no ability to reach into your CRM.
6.Reporting misuse
If you have received outreach you believe originated from data obtained through ReachNow and it breaches this policy, tell us at support@reachnow.io. Include the message you received, with headers if you have them.
We investigate reports of misuse. We cannot tell you what action we took against another customer, but we will confirm that your report was received and acted on. If you also want your details removed from our systems, use the data removal page — that is immediate and does not depend on the outcome of any investigation.
7.Enforcement
Where we find that this policy has been breached, we may, depending on the seriousness of the breach and whether it is repeated:
- Contact you to ask for an explanation or a change in how you use the service
- Suspend your account while we investigate
- Terminate your account and refuse further service
- Report the matter to a regulator or law enforcement, where we are required to or where the conduct appears to be criminal
Serious breaches — fraud, phishing, harassment, resale of the data — may result in immediate termination without prior warning.
Credits remaining on a terminated account are forfeited and are not refunded. This is consistent with the prepaid, non-refundable basis on which credits are sold, set out in the Terms of Service.
8.What we do and do not monitor
We want to be straightforward about this rather than implying a surveillance capability we do not have.
We do not read, intercept or monitor the outreach you send. ReachNow does not send email on your behalf and has no visibility into your campaigns. We cannot tell whether a message you sent was welcome or unwelcome.
What we do see, and do act on:
- Reports from recipients and from other customers
- Usage patterns on our own platform that are inconsistent with legitimate use — for example enrichment volumes and patterns that suggest indiscriminate harvesting rather than targeted prospecting
- Attempts to circumvent credit accounting, rate limits or purchase caps
- Notices from regulators, hosting providers or payment providers
In short: enforcement here is primarily complaint-driven and pattern-driven, not surveillance-driven. That is the honest description, and it is why reporting misuse to us genuinely matters.
9.Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service changes or as the legal landscape does. Material changes will be reflected in the version number and date at the top of this page. Continuing to use ReachNow after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
